1. Introduction
RedClip (“we”, “our”, or “us”), developed by Numerbyte, operates the RedClip Chrome extension and the website at redclip.numerbyte.com (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.
By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you register with a password, it is hashed by our authentication provider and never stored in readable form. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your email address and a unique account identifier — we do not receive your Google password or any other Google account data.
Subscription & Usage Data
We store your subscription status (free or Pro) and a daily count of how many Reddit threads you have saved. We do not store which threads you saved, what content they contained, or which notebooks you used.
Reddit Content
When you click “Save to NotebookLM”, the Extension reads the Reddit thread you are currently viewing, formats it, and sends it directly to your chosen Google NotebookLM notebook. This content is processed temporarily in the Extension and is never sent to or stored on RedClip's servers.
Local Preferences
Convenience settings — such as your last-used notebook and capture scope — are stored locally on your device. They are never transmitted to our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate your account and keep you signed in
- To enforce plan limits and manage your subscription entitlements
- To send transactional emails (e.g., password resets)
- To operate and improve the Service
We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the Service.
4. Google NotebookLM Integration
RedClip connects to Google NotebookLM on your behalf to add content to your notebooks. This requires a Google account signed in to NotebookLM in your browser. The Extension acts as a bridge: content flows from Reddit directly to your notebook. RedClip does not read the existing contents of your notebooks, and your notebook data is never shared with RedClip's servers.
Your use of Google NotebookLM is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
5. Payments
Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. RedClip never collects, sees, or stores your payment card details. We receive only a confirmation that a payment was completed and which plan was purchased, which we use solely to update your subscription status.
6. Data Storage & Retention
Account information (your email address and subscription status) is stored on our secure cloud servers for as long as your account exists. Usage counts are retained as aggregate historical records. Reddit content you save is never stored on our servers — it exists only momentarily in the Extension during the save operation and is discarded immediately after.
Credentials and preferences stored locally on your device are cleared when you sign out or uninstall the Extension.

7. Third-Party Services
We rely on the following third-party services to operate. Their privacy policies govern their own data handling:
- Supabase — authentication and account data storage (supabase.com/privacy)
- Google — sign-in and NotebookLM (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Reddit — source of the content you choose to save (redditinc.com/policies/privacy-policy)
- Dodo Payments — payment processing (dodopayments.com/privacy)
- Google Analytics (GA4) — website usage analytics on redclip.numerbyte.com only. We use it to understand aggregate behavior such as which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, and how visitors move through the signup and upgrade flow. It does not run inside the Extension and never has access to Reddit content, notebook contents, or anything you save. Data collected includes page views, button/link clicks, approximate location (country/region, derived from IP), device/browser type, and — once you are signed in — your plan tier and account age, used only in aggregate to understand product usage. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, and Google Ads features (ad personalization, ad storage) are explicitly disabled. (policies.google.com/privacy)
We do not use advertising networks, advertising pixels, retargeting, or behavioral advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data. Google Analytics is used solely to understand product usage and improve RedClip.
8. Security
All data transmitted between the Extension and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to your account data on our servers is restricted so that only you can access your own information. We apply industry-standard security practices throughout the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time by uninstalling the Extension
For users in the EEA, UK, or California: we process your data on the lawful bases of contract performance and legitimate interests. We do not sell your personal data.

10. Children's Privacy
RedClip is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, through the Extension or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
